Week One - Doing some more pinhole photography

This week we took more photos with our pinhole cameras individually. I took one photo at home, where I left the shutter open for about 50 minutes because of the lack of good light. Unfortunately, when I went back to develop the picture the next day the darkroom was closed, so it had to wait until the following Monday, which was a shame because I was really curious to see how the photo would turn out (I had only meant to leave the shutter open for about 30 minutes at the most- and forgot about it). Our tutors had left us some paper in the darkroom which we were allowed to use for our pinhole photography specifically, so we kept filling up our cameras while our last photos were developing.

Some of my results:

Anna lying outside in the grass, smoking a cigarette
This is the photo I did at home, you can see our big window in the back and my boyfriend sitting on the sofa.
Two rows of cars with a university building in the back
As a result of these two weeks I can say that I have never been this amazed or fascinated with anything! The simplicity behind building a pinhole camera and how the actual photo comes to be amazes me, partly because I don’t fully understand how it works and partly because something as easy and simple as that can create very stunning and impressive photos. I will probably still stick to digital and film cameras for the most part, but I can see myself doing a few more smaller experiments with my pinhole camera.

Two more results:

I love the detail of the grass and rose bushes! And no, I have no idea what that thing at the top is.. Pretty sure it wasn't there when I took the photo oO
Loving the detail of the grass, again, and of the trees around the sides!
I also found some more examples:
